‘Which is Real, the Woodland or the Mirror Image?’

This week 20 artists are bringing their work to place in the woodland and gardens of Warton Hall. The sun has shone the heavens have opened and the wind has blown but throughout these changes in weather we have dressed in shorts, wells, waterproofs and generally any old clothes we can lay our hands on. One thing we have all had in common is laughter, it has been a week of hard work and great results.
The distraction of the week was of course, the bluebells in all their glory, they take your breath away, a feast for the eyes. The trees are dressed for spring with bright green meeting the pale purple haze of the flowers.
The tea Room is taking shape with kitchen cupboards full of crockery from the charity shops all washed and stacked, coffee percolator to make what looks like 100 cups a time. Cakes are underway with Jackie Fairclough at the kitchen helm. I have all the ingredients for Francesca and I to make flapjacks and rocky road, scones and tea bread.
Some are still making their installations Richard and Jaqualine return tomorrow to add to their tree sculpture “What is This? It has been so relaxing watching the two of them set up their picnic blanket on the edge of the woods get out the flask and sandwiches and contentedly weave grasses and found objects into a ‘nest’ of pieces that is now resting in the heart of the trees.
So art grows.
My ‘Safe Space ‘installations have grown some what with the rain and sunshine and I have nearly completed the petals for the 10 ‘Daisy Seats’ for the little people who will bring teddy bears for a picnic or just for weary fairies and pixies to take a moment before entering the tipi to listen to the days stories.
David has a surprise installation to place, a secret addition, a parcel arrived today…mmm I wonder where this is going.
