Taking out the floors to the north wing of Warton Hall.

Only two weeks to go and the gates will open at Warton Hall for visitors to walk the woodland paths and see the sculptures in the garden. The trees are covered now in tiny new bright green leaves and the Bluebells are showing their pretty lilac heads.
We have been very busy building a wood store for the fallen branches and wood dropped from the trees over the winter, plenty for the open fire and wood burner.
The garages are finished and we have fitted shelves and cupboards for what we will need to serve tea and cakes during the Open garden nine days. I visited all the local charity shops and purchased cups and saucers, plates and milk jugs and they have been washed and put away for the event.
Alison and Pat came over today and we chose the books we will read in the tipi, they are ordering books for us to sell and have found some lovely small soft animals to add to the theme of nature and creation.
Artists have already begun to deliver their art work and we have been choosing the best places for each of them to be seen. A Lot of energy and thought has gone into these lovely pieces and will be enjoyed by all our visitors I’m sure. Smaller pieces have been made to go in the small shop area in the Conservatory of Warton Hall.
All art work will be for sale and commissions can be agreed with the artists for a personal piece for your garden or for the house.
Please bring cash along on the day if you wish to purchase a sculpture, a deposit can be made and the piece collected and payed for in full by Bank Transfer direct to the artist at the end of the week. We don’t have credit card facilities, but we may in the future. Art prices range from £10 to £10,000 so something for everyone.
The renovations to the North wing of Warton hall are going well with a team of men removing the first floor to open up the area creating a two storey room. The new windows have been ordered and the King Charles trusses too.
We are very pleased to open our gardens and share them with you, I hope you will have a lovely time wandering in the woodland and will take time to appreciate the art and sit in the vegetable garden and take some refreshment.
